How Can We help Your Child?
As a parent myself, I know that you want the very best for your child – and at a price that you can afford. Lockdown has been difficult for everyone. There has been huge demand for extra help for children, to help them catch up with work missed or areas of study not completely understood, during a time when contact with their usual teachers was simply not possible. Of course teachers would like to do more, but what about if you want more help for your child than is currently available? That’s where ILB Education can help.
I have almost thirty years of primary teaching experience and an impressive record of helping children achieve more. If you want to see what just some of the parents of children with whom I have worked have to say, please visit the testimonials’ page, here.
In January 2021 I realised that many parents were looking for more support than was available for them. The Prime Minister had just (4/1/21) announced another set of school closures at a time when many children had missed out on so much. That’s when ILB Education was launched, to meet those needs. Within a week of lockdown being announced ILB Education was up and running. Tutoring began. The help and much needed support was available here. Results followed.
Spaces are available, now, for primary aged children for the 2021-22 academic year. We can offer particular expertise in supporting children needing help with Maths and English, including up to and beyond Key Stage 2 (Y6) SATs. If you are interested in finding out more, please read on, or get in touch, using this link, here.
What does tutoring involve?
Tutoring with ILB Education begins with a discussion. You say how you would like your child to be able to improve and I will outline the type of support that can be given. It may be help with a particular area of the curriculum that is needed, or with a specific topic. I’ve also helped children where confidence has been an issue, or where negative patterns of thinking, influenced by previous failures, have held a child back from achieving their full potential.
Tutoring with ILB Education means specific, individual, focused support. The work done here is seen as complementing what schools can offer, to benefit your child.
A typical lesson will be 45 minutes of high quality, one-to-one targeted support and learning for your child, followed by an optional 5 minutes of feedback to you. Lessons take place by Zoom at a mutually agreed time.
What you will need is a child who would like to learn, (although I have consistently received feedback that pupils’ motivation and enthusiasm increase a lot while they are with me), a quiet place where they can work, a laptop or computer with a reliable internet connection and plain paper and a pencil or pen. The material needed for each lesson is provided by ILB Education, and either emailed or posted in advance, or provided on-screen during the lessons.
What does this cost?
Our rates are among the most competitive available. As of June 2021 our rates are £30 per lesson, when paid for half termly in advance. If you are a NHS worker, please ask about our special offer for NHS staff that is currently running. For full terms and conditions, please click the link in the footer at the bottom of this page.
